        About ZJL
        Jiaye Library

The Jiaye Library, built by Liu Chenggan, a modern and contemporary bibliophile, and the largest and latest private library in Chinese history, was donated to the Zhejiang Library in 1951. Located on the bank of Partridge Creek, Nanxun Town, Huzhou City, it covers an area of 14,285 square meters.

In April 1961, the Jiaye Library (including Xiaolianzhuang, a group of private classical garden buildings built in the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty) was announced by the Provincial People's Committee as a provincial key cultural relic protection unit, and was re-announced by the Provincial People's Government in April 1981. In July 2001, Jiaye Library was listed in the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
